Below is a list of the different groups one can join. They each have their own unique take on all things Gaulish, some focus on tribal recon, or that of a region, and others are more focused on Gaul as a whole. That being said a lot of folks in the Gaulish Contributors section have their own house customs which we call Tegobessus.
- Uarinâ (commons) meaning folks of different Toutâ, Trebâs, Cerdû, and Tegos getting together to share. We see this with The Council of All Gaul and the gathering of the Druides in the land of the Carnutes.
- Toutâ (nation, people, tribe) We have a few layers of custom. That which were the communal events that everyone was a part of, and the different Dêuoi associated with those. You might only participate in this a few times a year. But they cover the toutâ as a whole and its shared customs.
- Trebâs (settlements), these are what people think of when they talk about local customs. Only people in that trebâ’s vicinity practice them. There’d be at least a few, or many of these in one toutâ.
- The cerdû (guild) and tegos (house). These are specific either to groups by profession (smiths, warriors, farmers, etc.) or those specific to a family or household.
Like with the Senogalatis we to are many tribes and groups.
Bessus Nouiogalation (Tradition)
A Gaulish Tradition that is a functional hybrid of revival and reconstruction
From the darkness, a New Tribe emerges.
Within the mist, the Customs solidify and form.
Into the light, the Traditions shine forth for the Customs of the New Gauls. Bessus Nouiogalation (Custom of the New Galatîs) is an adbessus (tradition) that centers around creating a new bessus (custom) from pieces of history, lore, worldview, religion found from all over what was once Gaul.
It is a Galatibessus tradition and as such is specifically centered on Gaulish worldviews, cultures, religions, etc. As such it is neither a specific regional reconstruction. Nor is it “generalist”. It seeks to take these disparate pieces of historical Gaulish customs to create something new. Open to all who are sincerely interested regardless of color, class, sexual orientation, gender identity, heritage, or ability status. No Fascists allowed.
Senobessus Bolgon (Tradition)
Senobessus Bolgon is a Gaulish Polytheism tradition specifically a Belgic style tradition to bring like-minded practitioners together under the Senobessus Bolgon banner. Their aim is to establish a reconstructed, polytheistic religion based on the practices of the people living in Gallia Belgica between roughly the 3rd century BC and the Roman conquest of Gaul.
Bonâ Bannobrogi (Tradition)
Bonâ Bannobrogi (meaning “the village, or groundwork of the mountain district”) is a syncretic Gaulish custom with emphasis on the Pyrenees Mountains as a focal point and influence for reconstruction and interpretation of Gaulish-attested deities whose inscriptions are found along them today.
Drunemeton is slowly being formed it is not something one joins but rather it is for the most devoted to help build. Drunemeton is the name of the assembly of Bardos, Uatis, and Druides. So a Gaulish/Brittonic focus on the Druids, Ovates, and Bards.
